Prevention & Hygiene Services
We offer proactive prevention and hygiene services to help keep your teeth and gums in tip top shape. Regular check-ups in conjunction with your at-home care will help to keep your teeth healthy for a lifetime!
You should generally visit the dentist once or twice a year – our dentist will recommend what’s best for your oral health. During this visit the dentist will perform an assessment of all aspects of your mouth, checking for any signs of decay, gum disease and other oral health problems.
This is done visually and by taking, X-Rays of both sides of your mouth to allow the dentist to assess between your teeth, to check surfaces are that may not be visible to the eye.
Fillings
A filling is a common and straight forward procedure and can be performed either with or without Local Anaesthetic, dependent on the case.
Fillings are used to restore decayed/broken teeth to their original appearance and function. During a filling appointment, the dentist will prepare the tooth and remove all dental decay, until a healthy and stable structure is remaining.
The cavity will then be disinfected and dried before a filling material is put in place.
Once the material has hardened, the dentist will shape it to look and feel just like a natural tooth.
Should you lose or crack a filling, please contact us for an emergency appointment.
Cleans
Twice-yearly dental cleanings are your best defence against gum disease and tooth decay!
Our hygienists use gentle tools and techniques to remove plaque and tartar build up, leaving your teeth sparkling clean and breath fresh.
The hygienist will perform a full mouth scale and clean, which involves using scaling tools to remove calculus build-up and stains, and complete polishing of the teeth and a fluoride treatment.
They will also provide oral hygiene and cleaning techniques to assist in maintaining your oral health in between visits.
Dental hygiene visits are usually every 6 months but each individual is different and your hygienist will let you know what the best treatment for you and your oral health.
